Learning to draw -- Day 7

And as a light shone down from the heavens, I somehow drew the picture in the top left! I'm over the moon that I was actually able to draw that with no references! I was at work all day just thinking about drawing a face from a profile angle and began to think 'well if I did this and that and then this, I reckon it could look ok'. I got home, scribbled it out and was surprised that it actually turned out ok. Normally I'm awful at drawing hair, but by complete luck the hair actually worked out ok on this one (I think so anyway). The drawing on the bottom left (the one from a 3/4th view) I had to use a reference for to get the shape of the head correct first. What I mean by that is that I based it off a shape already in book I am using, and if you asked me why the jawline is that long or why the chin is at that position, I would have no clue. Tomorrow though I am learning what makes up a face and the steps to draw at a 3/4th angle so that I actually understand what I am drawing.

The other two on the right were more attempts yet again to draw faces from a front on angle. As per usual there were a lot more drawings I did that day, but these were probably the best. Gah, It's hard drawing from that angle. Everything needs to be so spot on or else it looks really weird.
