Learning to draw -- Day 11

Description

Just a few more faces I decided to fill in while I'm mucking around with different angles. I have no idea what I was trying to draw. I think I'm starting to get used to figuring out some of the basic angles now, which helps when deciding how long to make the jaw line from the ear and so on. One of the most important things I've noticed many books mention is the ability to see in 3D even though you are drawing in 2D. It's the ability to give your drawing depth and know that you're representing just as much of what you can see in the drawing as what you can't see on the other side of the face. I'm only just starting to get the idea of this but it helps a lot. Whimsical enough for you? Hey man, lets break out the peace pipe!
As Andrew Loomis puts it (Author of "Drawing the head and hands", a great book), when he is drawing he isn't just drawing a line, but he is drawing around the edge of a 3D object on the page that he feels like he could reach out and grab. I'm now starting to get what he means by that, and it helps immensely.
